Sirimane waterfalls

Pure white the water falls near sringeri in the western ghats the road is thin the scenery is thick lush green tropical sometimes engulf sometimes on right sometimes on left sometimes the plains stretch on both sides Few little steps take you near loud noises and lots of cheer Your heart thumps to हर हर महादेव !! बस शिव की पुकार हुए जाये बारम्बार The white spread inviting clear the clothes drop shamelessly the body rushes civilization just crushes embraces the mighty waterfall Thundering on the back a gentle massage few trickles pour into the mouth divine taste The hand on eyes protecting the shine as eyes go up to catch a glimpse of all whites roaring streams of waterfall What was perceived as cold and calculated is utter bliss and delight the body soaked the mind clear the steps are heavy as you clear away from the waterfall A longing look dragging feet another glimpse heart stops moment still Its all...

Lost river Cauvery in trichy

There is only line of trucks till eyesight go. On the highway, in the riverbed. There is only sand left in the cauvery river delta. Sand which spins money and fulfill desires of few She is born in western ghats Cities and civilizations have been built on her banks Poets, kings and farmers have been inspired by her What remains of her is a small canal in which people bath, wash, clean children jump in 2 feet deep adults wade around there must have been a time when the riverbed was half a mile wide now its only property of few who own the sand quarries centuries old sand particles are now part of some shaky concrete construction tell me is nature beautiful in nakedness or is it in abundance the more you take away the less you will have once a majestic worshiped river is now a mere canal for trichy has huge temples and less river

Yellow is beautiful

She was beautiful, to say the least. She was yellow. She was gorgeous. She was in vision for a split second. She came in with the wind and went out. And for all my bias, she may not be she. When you drive past the madiwala lake in BTM 18th cross, you get through a slum and bang on the BTM road that connects with silk board. The road was pristine and I could see that its made of tar. On most days its a carpet of vehicles and exhaust. Today morning is when festivities start for diwali. Actuallly since yesterday, as it was DhanTeRas, the day you need to buy steel items or gold/silver coin. Even after silk board the road was smooth and I was riding high but for a cab driver who was happily chatting on his mobile and came and stood across me at a crossing. Another Qualis came from front on other side of the road who wanted to take a right. The cab wanted to take left and I was to go straight. He was happy on his mobile until I gave a full blown horn and he thought its time to back up and...

its pouring ice cold misty drops

It rained and my fingers have shrunk in. I simply stood in the balcony. The rain was as eager to embrace me as I was to her. She heard my prayers from all directions as it came hurtling down from left as well as from right. The mango trees were still but the water squeezed out between golden magic and jardine on one side and magnifica and carinata on other side. It seemed to be converging inside my balcony as this was the first time she entered through the winds. The touch is always special as is every drop. You also fear because you know there will be loss somewhere both of life and property with the way cities are constructing and growing these days. Water was floating above the concrete as it mixed with downpour from above. Never witnessed anything like this. A mother and child were walking with a weak umbrella getting drenched from all sides. The child was trying to hug close to mother. It was cold hail drops. It is still pouring now and I am cushioned in the sofa after a warm bat...

Charming Rains

It is a downpour tonight. I went there with open arms, my mouth wide open to drink and savor every drop that was coming from the sky. Euphoria embraces you as you release yourself to the mercy of raindrops. They are soft and melt on touching you and slowly seep within and cool you. The clouds are very noisy tonight and every evening they have been thundering for a while. In India this is how we welcome monsoons. These are called as pre-monsoon showers and they sketch beautifully and continuously in the dark gray sky with their powerful lightning strokes. There is no such thing as post-monsoon shower as it hardly rains before the next pre-monsoon in India. Bangalore is different. This May the rains have been audacious and the winds have been been blasting through and through. The raindrops simply play along the directions of wind, merging, breaking before getting absorbed in the soil. I can see the beautiful lightning strokes from the corner of my eyes. It is in these moments you become...
