She said she was scared. She was to give a dance performance. There will be dancer and audience. The thought of audience can scare. The audience will judge and comment, appreciate, deride. Their view on her performance will affect her dance.
What is dance?
Dance is expression of gratitude.
A gratitude towards the body which can move in certain rhythm to the musical notes.
A gratitude to the musical composition that inspires the body to move in a certain way at certain note.
A gratitude to the air which allows the body to flow like water.
A gratitude to the earth for holding the weight of the body.
A gratitude for the platform provided by the organizers to perform.
Why to perform?
A performance is a reminder of the dance which is in nature.
A performance reminds us of how the consciousness creates, maintains and dissolves. The Shiv Tandav. शिव तांडव।
A performance connects us and when it does its therapedic, meditative.
A performance helps you to slip into meditation, a trance. It brings the wow! in you and the wonder stills you.
Dance is expression of the self. It is between your self and your master. The master whose grace helped to fructify the dance talent in you. When you remember this the fear of judgement goes. You become one with the audience. The dance, dancer, audience merge in the melody of the composition.
